Islamic Relief Palestine (IRPAL), in partnership with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), is responsible for the implementation of a new TVET/LM project entitled Enhancing Youth Employability in the Gaza Strip. The overall goal of the Enhancing Youth Employability (EYE) project is to improve youth employability in the Gaza Strip while, at the same time, improving the overall TVET system in the Gaza Strip.
IRPAL is seeking a qualified and experienced senior local consultant within the following conditions:
Position: Local Short Term Trainer (LSTT) in Learning and Development Program for TVET Trainers
Work Location: Based in Gaza Strip
Duration: 120 work days in the Gaza Strip between December 2013 – June 2014

Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
- Initial or higher degree in education, human resource management/development, vocational/technical education or related discipline
- At least 10 years professional experience in the HRD Sector
- At least 5 years’ experience in designing and conducting competency based and competency assessed training programmes based on adult learning principles for TVET trainers
- Practical experience of the European Qualification Framework (EQF) with particular reference to Level 3 – skilled worker level
- At least 5 years relevant work experience in the field of demand-driven TVET reform
- Have a high level of proficiency/fluency in spoken and written English and Arabic.
- Be aware of gender and environmental issues
- Be computer literate
- Have good organisational, report writing, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
