MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the ideal candidate will:
-Responsible, in coordination with the project staff, for maintaining communications between EMIS Gaza project team, HQ Education Department, Field Education Departments Area and School Education staff, other HQ departments and external stakeholders;
-Designing and implementing the communication plan, including determining stakeholders groups, communication methods, timings, language and other modalities;
-Prepare, disseminates and tracks all project communication; including donor reports to the Project Manager and HQ Education department;
-Ensures that records and lists of essential stakeholders contact information are properly updated;
-Maintains intranet and social media accounts for all project communications.
-Performs such other duties as may be assigned
PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES
-A university degree in communications, business or other related discipline.
-Three years in communications and public information.
-Excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic.
-Proficiency with MS Office, internet content management and social media.
-Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
-Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary varies from $1,165.40 to $2,272.80 based on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate; plus a currency adjustment factor (present rate 23%).
-Contract Duration: six months. Extension is subject to continued need, availability of funds and satisfactory service.
-Leave: 30 days annual leave.
-Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.
-A regular staff member can apply to this LDC post but will not be allowed to assume such post through secondment as he/she needs to leave his/her current post to accept LDC appointment.
EQUIVALENCY
Candidates with an equivalent combination of relevant academic qualifications, professional training and progressive work experience may also be considered.
